Using Matelume

Software licence

What this licence covers

During an active subscription, use the included tools for personal or commercial design work. You retain your rights in your work. You must have the rights needed to use your source photographs, artwork and other inputs. This licence does not grant rights to third-party designs.

Paid access

Every user needs a Matelume account and an ongoing internet connection, including trial, paid and reviewer access. Your photos and material processing stay on your PC.

A personal licence is for one person, with up to two PCs activated and one running Matelume at a time. Studio subscriptions provide the purchased number of seats. Do not share personal accounts for simultaneous team use.

Trial and Max

Every new Matelume account receives a 5-day trial of the full version, starting when the first PC is linked. Exports are capped at 2K, with a faint “Matelume · trial” watermark on the Color map only. Max features, including fur, are Coming soon. When the trial ends, building and exporting pause until you buy a plan. Your work stays, and the app stays installed. The trial does not start a paid subscription.

Max is Coming soon and is not included in Founder, Pro, Studio or the trial. Do not remove trial watermarks to bypass trial restrictions.

Software and component rights

Do not redistribute or sublicense the application or bypass its access controls. This does not restrict rights granted by applicable law or third-party open-source licences. Keep component notices; see Credits & licences and the notices supplied with the installer.

Ending access

Paid expiry stops new licensed work until renewed. Trial expiry stops building and exporting until a plan is bought; the app and your work stay. Exported materials remain yours to keep, subject to rights in their source material. Keep backups of your work.
